Giant joins prestigious charity event line-up

We are always pleased to have the opportunity to share our knowledge and expertise to a wider audience, so when the team at Goldman Sachs approached us to speak at their forthcoming charity event, we were only to happy to accept.

On 8th November, Vimal Patel, Managing Director at Giant Digital will be joining the speaker panel at the prestigious Goldman Sachs Endowments and Foundations Forum EMEA 2022. He will be joined by Nick Hodder, Assistant Director of Digital Transformation at Imperial War Museum to share insights into Web3 and what opportunities (and potential pitfalls) exist in this new world of technological advancement for charities.

As part of a panel discussion, Nick and Vimal will be covering topics such as blockchain, how to work with crypto-currencies and opportunities in the Metaverse, which should make for an interesting and insightful session. Delegates will be attending from charities across Europe, Middle East and Africa, and this emerging technology will certainly be a topic that is highly relevant to all, no matter the geographical location.

In speaking about the event, Vimal said;

Web3 is on the horizon, and I feel quite passionately that non-profits should not be left behind when it comes to digital development. But charities do have much more to consider when embracing new technology. It is important to be aware of the opportunities, but also the challenges and considerations associated with using these new technologies. I’m looking forward to sharing some Web3 insights at the Endowments and Foundations Forum, and hopefully raising greater awareness and understanding of this exciting area of digital.

As a charity digital agency, we always endeavour to keep ahead of digital trends and share our learnings and expertise with our third sector audience, whether through articles, speaking opportunities or events. Our recent learning event on future digital trends and the opportunities for charities is just one example of this, and we have certainly seen a growing interest in Web3 for fundraising and marketing in the sector.

It is exciting to see a new wave of digital innovation, however, if there is one message we want to reiterate it is this: For any charity thinking of exploring Web 3 technologies, whether it be crypto, gaming or the metaverse, it is incredibly important to carry out research, take expert advice and plan well to get the best from these emerging technologies. Web3, could open up new opportunities to reach new audiences, but with more at stake than most, charities must also ensure they are fully aware of the potential pitfalls and how to safeguard against them.
